Grand Junction Shared-Use Path

Cambridge City Councillor Dennis Carlone has scheduled a meeting of the city council's Transportation and Public Utilities Committee on Wednesday, June 11, to explore the way forward for a shared-use, rails-with-trail path along the city's Grand Junction corridor.

This meeting will bring together all of the key stakeholders, including the city's Community Development Department, the Friends of the Grand Junction Path, MIT, the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and other transportation advocates. There will also be some discussion about the concept of creating an east-west, shared-use path to connect Danehy Park to the future Grand Junction path. The agenda will include:

  • Tom Evans, Executive Director of the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority
  • Ned Codd, Assistant Secretary for GreenDOT, Massachusetts Department of Transportation
  • Scott Hamwey, Office of Transportation Planning, Massachusetts Department of Transportation

Members of the public are encouraged to RSVP for this meeting. Everyone is also welcome to offer testimony during public comment, which is expected to start at approximately 4:15 pm.
